About the Journal
Style and Format
Length | Manuscripts can be any length. There are no restrictions on word count, number of figures, or supporting information. However, the journal advises presenting and discussing the findings concisely. |
Font | Use a standard font size and any standard font. |
Headings | Authors should limit manuscript sections and sub-sections to three heading levels. Make sure heading levels are indicated in the manuscript text. |
Layout and spacing | Manuscript text should be double-spaced. Do not format text in multiple columns. |
Page numbers | Include page numbers in the manuscript file. |
Footnotes | Footnotes are permitted. |
Language | Manuscripts must be submitted in English. |
Abbreviations | Define abbreviations upon first appearance in the text. |
Reference style | JOTMR uses the “APA” style. |

Title page
Abstract
- Describe the main objective(s) of the study
- Explain how the study was conducted, including any model used, without methodological detail
- Summarize the most important results and their significance
- The Abstract should not exceed 300 words
- Citations
- Abbreviations, if possible
Introduction
- Provide background to afford context and allow readers outside the field to understand the purpose and significance of the study
- Define the problem addressed and its importance
- Include a review of the literature (may be presented as a separate section)
- Note any relevant controversies or disagreements in the field
- Conclude with a brief statement of the study aim/research question
